Volunteer Centre Warrington is an active resource for leaders of volunteers in the UK.  As part of the European Year of Volunteering 2011 (EYV), they have been delivering a series of free online training sessions which will wrap up on December 8th  with “Making a Noise: What volunteer managers need from leaders and decision makers.”  This session will focus on what's next for volunteer management after EYV and features volunteer managers who have been involved in helping to shape the field through the development of a national professional association.  The findings from this session, plus the survey which will accompany it, will be fed back to the Cabinet Office and will include recommendations for continuing to support and develop volunteer managers.  Sue Jones, director of VCW, reports that the series will keep going:

We are delivering our final webinar broadcast for the year as part of the EYV11 project (although rest assured the sessions will continue in 2012, starting again in February). Thank you to all of you who have participated in the webinars and for the feedback we are continuing to receive about the innovative ways you are using these resources individually and locally to help develop the profession. Watch …for details of how you will be able to access all the resources from the EYV11 Volunteer Management project, coming very soon!

Sign up for this free session - it's some time out for you, a chance to discuss and debate what's really important in the profession right now and an opportunity for you to have a say. Open to colleagues anywhere.  It's really easy to take part - you just need a PC with speakers or a PC and a telephone. Register at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/405104862.
